almost a year! holy guacamole i'm a lazy blogger.
quite a few things happened since last september. listed below:
- found man of life
- got a math msc
- got a math magistère
- found money for a math phd in normandy
- went to indonesia
- visited about 80% of normandy
- started living (2 weeks ago) in a lovely appartment in normandy for le phd.
right about now i'm desperately trying to actually start my thesis, from an admin's point of view (the math work has already started, i can work anywhere but wanna get paid dammit!).
so far i've had to transfer everything strasbourg has about me, to normandy; i'm waiting for the e-mail from the transfer bureau that tells me to go on and gives me a damn code to do so.
then i have to fill out (that's already done) 2 papers, one of which i have to redo 4 times because original signatures are wanted; the other asks for permission to start a thesis. once these are signed by the right 4 people, i'm supposed to MAIL these (can't even give them straight away >_<) to the same transfert bureau, with some more papers they already have but want again.
then i should be a normandy student.
the whole procedure might last for ages as far as i know, i don't have a printer (the lab's admins provide it, lovely people^^) or a bureau (another struggle...) or a salary.
adventure time!! :D
so anyway, indonesia (especially bali), will be summed up, for its own sake, by this picture:
this is bali's tanah lot temple at sunset. luved it ^^
and normandy... let's see...
another thing... be careful when you sign up for a new elecricity contract at edf: i did it on aug 21st, but the girl who was there before me called edf to stop her contract on aug 23rd... and of courses they messed up our names and i got a letter on sept 6th telling me that my contract had been successfully cancelled! in that case, you'd better run to their nearest agency (DO NOT CALL) and start a new contract immediately... they had already taken an appointment to turn my electricity off! so as soon as you get that bloody letter, go to them, it's a matter of hours >_< (they did do a little commercial gesture to say they're sorry; i'll see if i forgive them).
that's it for now!
i might post about my phd experience from time to time.
